                           - Men should eat more Tomatoes

      Research has found that food and living habit that has an important impact on the incidence of prostate cancer. A new study conducted by The United Kingdom has found that eating tomatoes and the related products can significantly reduce the risk of prostate cancer .

    Prostate Cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in the world. There are 35,000 new cases occurred each year in The United Kingdom. In Australia, Prostate cancer accounts for approximately 30% of cancers diagnosed each year in Australian men. And the cancer is increasing every year. It has been estimated that around 120,000 Australian men are living with prostate cancer, and it is predicted that the number will increase to 267,000 by 2017. 

    Researchers believe that the large amount of antioxidants in tomatoes - Lycopene, which plays an important role in helping prevention of prostate cancer. Lycopene, it is a substance that can counteract the toxins in human body and protect cells from the harm.

   Men, for your health and for your loved one, please eat more Tomatoes !

   While a balanced diet is the foundation of health, scientists studies have found that some foods are the most prominent in cancer prevention effects, such as Garlic,Citrus fruits, Flax- seeds, Green tea , Green vegetables , All the berries , Salmon, Tomato , Red wine and Whole grains ...

1, Garlic : Garlic is the most effective anti- cancer food, especially for skin cancer , colon cancer and lung cancer.

2,Citrus fruits: Studies have found that regular consumption of citrus fruits can decrease the risk of mouth, throat and stomach cancers.

3, Flax-seeds : Flaxseeds contain Lignans, with antioxidant and inhibitory effects on carcinogenesis. And its rich in Omega 3 fatty acids that can fight colon cancer.

4,Green tea: Research confirms that green tea can slow down and prevent the development of several types of cancer, including the cancers of colon, liver, breast and prostate cancer.

5, Green vegetables : Dark green leafy vegetables are rich in carotenoids, which is an antioxidant and it can get rid of free- radicals in the body and prevent cancer.

6, All the berries : Blueberries ,Strawberries, Raspberries are rich in cancer- fighting ingredients that can effectively prevent most of cancers.

7, Salmon : Studies have shown that fish such as salmon is a cancer - fighting expert. However, better not frying it but steam or bake it .

8, Tomato : Tomatoes contain Lycopene that it has been shown to prevent prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer and stomach cancer. However, in order to absorb more Lycopene, it is best to eat cooked tomatoes, rather than raw.

9, Red wine : Red wine contains resveratrol  that is a highly effective antioxidant and it can prevent cell damage. However, it's the best to just drink one small glass of it a day.

10, Whole grains : Whole grains are rich in antioxidants and dietary fiber that can prevent cancer.

     Your food , your medicine .

         I have never believed "Your food could be your medicine"until at the day - a public holiday  when I was seriously ill with the symptoms: body aches/ pains, headaches and fever,and blocked / runny noses...  and without medicine to take ( In Australia, there is few businesses opened in public holidays ) .

    ...Wandering on street with body pain and disappointing in having no medicine for me , after I visited at  several Chinese Clinics/ medicine shops closed ...

( I often take  Chinese medicine called BanLanGen Tablet for treatment/ prevention of Cold / Flu - BanLanGen Tablet - a kind of herbal medicine compound that can treat Cold / Flu and etc ) . 

 ... Suddenly, I saw there was white radish on one of shelves at a Chinese vegetable store...

  ... Next day, when I woke up and I found out the all of symptoms that I suffered for many days have been gone, just gone totally !  - I felt no pain, no headache and no blocked / runny noses any more  ... It was a magic !!!



I always agreed that what people eat in daily life is relation to their health. But, I never thought  a food can have such strong effect in treatment of disease / illness .


      - "Your food your medicine" indeed !

 Cancer expert to continue eating  meat...

     ABC News : The Australian cancer expert Professor Bernard Stewart, chief scientific advisor for the Cancer Council Australia, chaired the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) committee which looked at 800 studies from around the world and concluded there was sufficient evidence in humans that the consumption of processed meat such as bacon, sausages and ham cause bowel cancer, and red meat"probably" does too.

However, Professor Stewart said the findings should not cause a complete boycott of the processed meats or red meat rather that moderation should be applied, and also said he  still eat red meat and processed meat including salami, bacon and harm.

  Some specialists insist the report is no reason to drop steak from the menu, though it is probably wise for big eaters of it to cut back . Meat is a good source of key nutrients like zinc, protein and Vitamin B12, as well as iron, which humans absorb more easily from meat than from plants.


​  "It doesn't mean you need to stop eating any red and processed meat" said Tim Key, an epidemiologist at Cancer Research UK. 

   Nutritionist Elizabeth Lund from Norfold in England said obesity and lack of exercise were a far bigger cancer risks. She said : if eat meat once a day combined with plenty of fruit, vegetable and weight control, will allow for a low risk of colorectal cancer. "It should also be noted that some studies have show that if meat is consumed with vegetables or a high- fibre diet, the risk of CRC is reduced".

   
     
( Note:  I am a meat person myself, I can not imagine without meat on table ... I eat all of red meat , as I think , as long as the meat is fresh and cooked   properly -  must add garlic when cooking  meat , which you would be always protected from cancer).

                   Pear, "Sweet Cleaner", protect you from cancer !  


You may know that Pear is a sweet and juicy fruit , which is rich in Vitamins, Dietary fiber, Calcium, Phosphorus, Iron, Iodine and Other trace elements... But, you may not know, Pear also can prevent constipation , and promote your body's carcinogenic substances discharge and protect you from cancer.

Let's look at a report about the tests here :

The researchers tested smokers by giving 750g of Pear pay day for four days and determine the levels of 1- hydroxypyrene, a metabolite of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons  in urine before and after eating pears... The results showed : after eating pears for 6 hours, 1-hydroxypyrene in human blood would be discharged with a large number of urine excretion. The tests also showed, 1-hydroxypyrene discharged little , when the people did not eat pear.

The researchers also found out : The heated pear juice contains a large number of anti-cancer substances polyphenols, and it can effectively prevent cancer. It  was  proved by many tests including of this :  feeding the mice (that have been injected with carcinogenic in their bodies)  with the heated pear juice, later, there would be a large amount of 1-hydroxy-pyrene toxin discharged in the rat's urine.

Therefore, it would be the best choice : To eat pear after meal, especially in having BBQ or fried food .
